Adventures in pattern-making

I completed the short sleeved tunic for Nora the other day, and I think I'm pleased with it, even if I did forget to put the three rows of ribbing at the sleeve edges.  LOL However, I think next time I'm going to try putting the increases all down the "side seams" rather than spreading them evenly across one row.  Mostly, I just want to see how it will look.  Experimenting is rather entertaining!

I went with a much longer length on the body of the Double-Breasted Coat for LTF... and I'm not sure I like it!  I think I want something somewhere in the middle.  And there would be the downside of trying to make my own pattern...sometimes the blasted thing just doesn't work out the way I want!

However, in this case I think that if I just lengthen the arms, this will fit Nora instead, and the length will be just fine on her.

I have a short-sleeved, open cardigan in mind for Nora next, rather like this one I made for Emily:



I have this neat ball of sock yarn in black, grey, and white, and I think it would look neat in a similar vest for Nora as it makes patterned stripes. :)

And then if that looks okay, maybe I can make another a little bigger for Nieceling's Les Cheries doll.  One of the best things about knitting for dolls is that you can often get a bunch of things from a single ball of yarn.
