LOL So we're going to say Pets didn't count, okay?
I've looked at the few BJD cats that are out there over the years, and always decided they weren't quite right. In the end, I just used a constantly sleeping cat that was really inexpensive, but never looked quite right for scale:
These ones? They are exactly right, for all the reasons I decided against the other ones. They allow for actual, cat-like posing!
I didn't do much this weekend, because to be honest, I'm so tired that I keep making mistakes on anything I try to do right now. It made for a frustrating week last week! However, on pay day last week I did discover that I had enough overtime to both make an extra contribution to my RRSP (retirement savings, for the non-Canadian among you) and to pay for one of these cats. No waiting and saving up $20/paycheque.
So I ordered one. :D If I filled out the form correctly, it should look something like this cat. But with greenish eyes.
...Of course, I was so tired, I sent the payment in CAD instead of USD through paypal. But they were very nice about it and it's been corrected now. Since I had messed up the sleeve of a sweater I was knitting, and turned out a totally unusable sewn dress for Emily, I decided after that, I was going back to bed, so I slept most of Sunday.
I feel much better today! But I think I better try to cut back on the overtime a bit.
Awesome! NowI can enjoy your cat photos and not have to buy one for myself lol! And the Siamese with green eyes will be gorgeous. Congratulations! What's the wait time, do you know?
ReplyDeleteP.s. cats LOVE craft rooms... :)
Isn't it nice the way that works! LOL
DeleteThey said the wait time is 2-3 months, which is pretty much the standard. I'm so excited...I wonder if I can make a cat carrier.... :D
Oh, no doubt the cat will greatly enjoy the craft room! My cat certainly enjoys supervising my crafting (usually by lying on whatever I'm making) and helping (usually by trying to grab the yarn or thread!) LOL
I think that cat will make a brilliant pet for your resin kids, it's a really great sculpt and as you say, poses really well. I also like the colouring that you've chosen for it. I look forward to seeing it on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am really looking forward to its arrival in a few months...So many picture-taking opportunities!
Delete...You should fill out there survey about the next animal they will make and get them to make a chihuahua! ;D
You got it!!!! Yey!!! I have seen pictures of the around and I love them, I thought of getting one too, but other dolls keep getting in the way. Maybe in the future... Can't wait to see owner pics and how he interacts with your babies :))))
ReplyDeleteAnd something else: I just found your blog while browsing around bjd blogs and I must say I was thrilled (I didn't know you had one). I love following your Flickr account and I love your dolls, I've been following them for a while now. So I am totally going to be following you here now!!! :D Yey! And I am totally adding you to my links! Do you have a small banner???
My excuse is that I don't need any more dolls...the dolls just need a pet! ;) I'm starting to see a few more picture of them around Flickr now, and I can't wait till mine arrives...
DeleteThanks very much for the kind words! :)
I do have a small banner, thanks! I checked out your link page, so I'll send it to you as it says? I've added yours here. :D
