Coming to the end of the overtime funds...
Clare received the second last package that I ordered with half my overtime pay. She now has high heeled feet to switch to on occasion, and plain black heels to wear with them.
The feet are a bit of a pain to change, but not too bad! It's nice to have more options for footwear for her; with the heeled feet, she can wear the shoes for the 22" American Model dolls. :)
The shoes themselves I'm not that thrilled with. They will work for indoor pictures! But they will only stay on her feet while she is standing on them; they fall off the second you move her. LOL
Not a practical outfit for chasing around small children, but very pretty! I got the dress years ago for Ellowyne (it's part of a fancier set), but I love it on Claire. Pretty, without being either childish or overdone.
She has a simple pencil skirt coming, still, and that will be the end of the purchases. I'm on the fourth of the t-shirts I'm sewing for her, so not much left on that project either. Once I'm finished with the Top Down Laceweight sweater pattern for LTF, I've got a couple Dollswest Design patterns I get to start on for Claire. I'm looking forward to working on those!

Clare does look lovely in this outfit, it really is very 'grown up' and elegant. Perhaps you could put a tiny bit of blue tac or that museum stuff on the bottom of her feet if she wants to go outside in the shoes....it wipes off easily and at least she'll not loose them!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautifully posed, Clare looks incredibly real!
Oh, that's an excellent idea for keeping the shoes on! I have a small amount of it I use to help them hold awkward props from time to time. :)
DeleteAnd thank you! I'm having fun trying to get better at posing Claire; her size makes her a little harder to handle.
That girl deserves a date once in a while -- or at least a chance to go somewhere that jeans and a tee won't do. :)
ReplyDeleteIt can't hurt to dress up from time to time! ;)
DeleteAnd speaking of, I found a tutorial on drafting a pencil skirt from measurements. Should work on dolls too, no?

That looks really neat! Thanks for the link! :)
DeleteIt's good to know Ellowyne clothing fits these dolls. I'm always looking for more fashion choices for my girls. I'm kind of getting bored with my usual places so thanks for that tip.
ReplyDeleteI think Clare looks fantastic in the dress and shoes. I have a pair of heeled feet for one of my girls too but I never use them. Mine tend to wear flat shoes. Actually, I don't think I've ever used heeled feet on anyone.
Thanks! I don't think I'd use the heeled feet too often, but it's nice to have the option. :)
DeleteThe only thing to watch with the Ellowyne clothing is that MNF have wider hips - so pants usually don't fit, or really close-fitting dresses. Tops, and dresses with looser skirts like this one seem to fit really well though! :D
Claire looks very chic in the dress and heels, lovely! I loved your other pictures too :-).
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! I don't think she'll break out the heels too often, but I like having the option. :D
DeleteClaire is always so beautiful and so "chic" in her lovely dress (I like the jean jacket also of course !).
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures !
Best regards from France
Thanks so much for the kind words! It was fun to do the pictures with the pretty dress and shoes for a change. :D
