Better Travelled Than Me....

Sometimes it's just astonishing to think of how much travelling my dolls did to reach me.   Most of them came via Korea.   One came from Korea via the states, and went through Colorado before coming here to me.

Fairyland Is In Korea

My BJD cat came from Russia, and just made it to Canada this morning.  It's in Ville St-Laurent (in Québec) this morning.

Tracking A Cat

I have never been to any of those places!

I've been to about half the other provinces within Canada, but Québec is one I haven't visited yet.  I was in the States once as a child, but that was Florida.  The only time I've left the continent was a trip to Barbados when I was very, very small.

It makes you wish the dolls could talk, and tell you a bit about where they were! LOL  But of course, that would in actuality be:
1)  A little disturbing
2)  Pointless, as they travel in boxes, and could not see a thing!

It's still a neat thing to think about though, isn't it. :)

  1. I agree, it is really interesting how they get around! I'm glad to hear that your cat is almost home now!
I've said something similar about the vintage Sasha dolls that I'm now sooo into. The ones I have were 'born' between 1966 and 1979 and I wonder where they've been, who played with them, and where they lived. Wouldn't it be wonderful if each doll came with a little book/diary showing their history! I suppose the good thing is that now they tend to get photographed so there is a little bit of 'new' history recorded, but I'd just love to know about the little boy or girl who originally received them and if they loved them!!

    1. Oh, that would be lovely if they came with a little history! Especially for dolls that were originally play dolls; you know someone probably loved them very much. :)

You are right about the photography thing, too. I hadn't thought of it, but you can trace some dolls history through various owners, just on Flickr, for example.

  2. You know, I never thought of this myself. They do travel more than us, especially if we end up selling them. Ah, if they could talk huh? That would be pretty neat, a bit disturbing as you said but neat. Give it a few years, I am sure someone, somewhere will come up with talking doll robots.

    1. LOL I bet they will come up with them! Though I'm not too sure a lot of people would want them once they existed....
