So I had that incredibly adorable yarn that reminded me of Elsa's dress in the movie Frozen, and I used it to make a dress for Kipling. (And then a matching hat, because why not?)
Then she really needed a coat to go with it, you know? And none of her existing ones worked!
And then I thought, you know, that hat pattern I have would look adorable with that coat!
And it did indeed look adorable! But she had no scarf, and that just seemed like a mistake!
And then I thought she really needed an earflap hat with curlicues on the back.
I think she's got winter covered.
Really.
I am stopping now and not making matching boot-toppers or arm warmers.
Oooooh my goodness what an adorable set of winter clothing you've made for her, and all so perfectly co-ordinating! I love it all!! And look at it this way, she'll probably not grow out of them so she could wear them again next year!! That is of course as long as you don't get another knitting spurt on and do her a whole new set in a different colour scheme!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The not-growing-out-of-things is a definite bonus to knitting for dolls. (Babies, adorable trouble-makers that they are, sometimes grow out of things before I COMPLETE them! LOL)
DeleteAww! How could you not? She looks so pleased and awfully cute. I can't decide which is cuter -- the pointy pixie or the earflap cap. She definitely looks older in the flap cap.
ReplyDeleteBesides, as Sharon said, at least she won't outgrow them -- a sore point since we just donated a bunch my dd outgrew that weren't worth frogging for the yarn...
Perhaps now is not the time to mention leg warmers are coming back in fashion? :)
Kids should definitely grow more slowly! (12 year old nephew was here this weekend, and he's shot up three inches since September! Oy vey...)
DeleteOh no, don't tell me about the legwarmers, it will be too tempting! ;)
This is a truly super cute winter set you made, perfect for this lovely doll! I don't know... making extra boot-toppers sounds very good too :-D.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm trying to resist making any more.... LOL
DeleteOMG! She is so lucky :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are SO talented!
Thanks so much for the kind words! The credit has to mostly go to the patterns I used, which are a lot of fun and quite quick to work up. :)
DeleteLooking at these lovely sets, I would like to tell you just "don't stop ! It's really cute !".
ReplyDeleteLOL Thank you! The plethora of hats would make a lot more sense if I could use them on the other two Pukifee without wrecking their wigs...as it is, I think Kipling has hats for every day of the week now! :)
DeleteLOL, oooh I Know how mesmerizing knitting can become, and what a stunning delighted little model she is - I sooo bet there will be leg warmers and and and :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just get on a roll with something, and it is hard to stop! LOL I think I've managed to stop now, but it remains to be seen... :)
DeleteI think you did such a great job on this outfit! It is hard to stop sometimes, you just keep on thinking of new things to add. In this case though, I think the not stopping worked for you!
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous and again, am in awe of your knitting skills!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I think I managed to stop with this particular wardrobe and move on now, finally!
Delete(Okay, so I'm working on another dress, but it doesn't match the rest! ;) )
This outfit came together very well! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! I'm really happy with the end result, even if I went a little overboard. ;)
