The Trials Of Being An Only Cat

Edith has more than made herself at home here, and is universally adored.

However, some of the residents here are quite young, which can lead to situations like this:

How To Carry A Cat 1 of 2

Fortunately, Claire was quick to explain that it is not comfortable for Edith to be picked up like that, and Cairo must support her hind feet as well:

How To Carry A Cat 2 of 2

Really, though, Cairo is just too small to be carrying Edith at all right now.

Edith likes all the residents here...

Edith requires a lot of petting to recover from the indignity. ;)

P.S.  Typing this post with my real-life cat not only on my lap, but lying on one arm.  Cats are so high maintenance! LOL

P.P.S.  For those of you who enjoy the BJD cats, have you seen this awesome cat tower and toys someone made for theirs?

  1. Awww what a lovely sweet post, I loved it! It's a good idea for Claire to explain to Cairo about holding the cat in the correct way because if Cairo were to accidently hurt the cat, she could end up with a nasty scratch and we'd not want that!!! ;)
Isn't that cat tower brilliant! Are you going to have a go at making one for Edith? At least then if the attentions of the tinies got too much for her she could climb to the top and look down loftily at them! :)

    1. I'd love to try making something like that tower! Though perhaps on a more modest scale, as that is seriously impressive. LOL Making a stable base for it would be the trickiest part, I think.

  2. Ooo, but cats are so tempting to pick up at that age. My dd was about 5 before she tried it but we have a big cat so she had to put on some weight first.
Neat cat tower! I'd be afraid Clawd would think it was for him and squash it. Or knock it down... over ....and over... again...

Claire and Edith look great together. I think they're the perfect size for each other.

    1. LOL I can see a cat doing that with a miniature cat tower....

Your daughter was very smart to wait till she was big enough; it often ends badly when the very small try it!

  4. I love Edith. She's so cute. And cats seem to love laying on your lap when you're in front of the computer don't they?

    1. They do. And when you're reading. And when you're knitting. Basically, if they can interfere with your mobility, it looks like a good time for cuddles to a cat! ;)
