Versitile Blogger Award Given By The Doll Barn

Nymphaea, of the always fascinating blog The Doll Barn,  recently awarded 15 readers of her blog with the "Versatile Blogger Award", and kindly included me on the list.

The rules of this award are that you choose 15 bloggers to pass this award on to, and tell the award-giving blogger 7 things about yourself.

So here are my seven (extremely random) things:

1.  I've always disliked the question: "What is your favourite book?"  I just like so MANY of them!  How can I possibly pick just one!  LOL

2.  When I did research on my maternal family, I found the purchase receipt of the farm which is still in the family today, seven generations later.  The 100 acres were purchased for $25!

3.  I love reading the answers to memes like this.  You are all such interesting people! :D

4.  I have no middle name.   For some reason, my family members tend to be called by their middle names.  My mom didn't give me one so that if I didn't like the name she gave me, I could make one up to go by!  LOL

5. My niece and nephews are my greatest joy in life.  They are all such unique characters, and it's a privilege to be close enough to watch and help as they grow. :)

6. I like to window shop on the internet. I put everything I want in the shopping cart, admire it, then close the browser!  I find that as satisfying as actually purchasing the items, most of the time.

7.  I am always tremendously amazed at the creativity and talent of people in the doll hobby, whether it is in making things, photography, or making up stories and background for the dolls.  I love how everyone approaches things a little bit differently, and no one runs around shouting about how so-and-so is "not doing it right!".  :D

I can't pass the award on to 15 other bloggers, as many of you have already been given this.  However, I'd like to pass this along to:
1.  Dollwishes
2.  Wayward Inn
3.  Wovenflame
4.  Bearpicnic
5.  Anyone reading this that would like to participate!

Note:  There is no obligation to participate!

  1. I saw that Nymphaea had already awarded you so I'm really interested to read your 7 things about yourself. It's nice to read things about people who we regularly 'meet up' with in our dolly world!
I know what you mean about books but I still have my one favourite, I've no idea why it is the book it is, but it's a book that I just have to go back to every once in a while and re-read....I just love it!
And yes, I'm with you on the talent in the dolly world, it's amazing what some people can do and great that they enjoy sharing it with us all.
    Big hugs, Sharon xx

    1. I try to have a favourite book, but I always end up with more like a list of ten or so. But I do understand what you mean about going back to re-read regularly! Some books are such a pleasure that they are utterly un-diminished by re-reading. :D

  3. I really enjoy reading these too! Lets me get to know the person behind the blog a little bit more, so to speak.

Congrats on the award! Thank you for nominating me! I will have to think of what to write for these!

I have to agree with you on the favourite books question. I hate being asked this myself as I have more than one!

I bet 100 acres is a lot more than $25 these days but that's so neat that you have a bit of your family's history now.

    I don't have a middle name either!

And can I just say, I am going to totally try your window shopping method to save money. I really need to learn a bit of that.

    1. You are the only other person I've heard of who didn't have a middle name, though I'm sure there are lots of us out there. :D Neat!

I'm looking forward to reading your seven random things. :D
