Nostalgia and Some Reorganizing

I bought a record player this weekend, so I can actually listen to my old childhood records that I've been moving from apartment to apartment all this time.

Long, Long Ago...

That certainly brought back some old memories!  My cousins and I, and later my sister and I, spent hours listening to records like the Sharon, Lois, and Bram one above, singing and dancing along.

In other news, I've folded the separate doll blog for the play dolls into this one.  I tend to be working on one thing or the other, so it didn't really make sense to keep them separate - one blog would always be getting updated infrequently!   So you may notice the posts from that blog are now over here.  :)

  1. I haven't seen a record player in years! I didn't realise you could still get them. I've been trying to look for the old style typewriters for a while now but they are insanely hard to come across.

That's why I usually just throw all the doll related stuff into the one blog. I hate having too many blogs floating around and it gets a little exhausting to keep up with updates when you have a few blogs around. I am glad you moved it over to here. I enjoy seeing the different sorts of dolls people collect.

    1. Record players aren't common, but there have been more of them becoming available lately. It took a good long time to find one for what seemed like a fair price, though! LOL

Oh, we used to have an old typewriter when I was little, and I think they donated it somewhere...I've often wished it had been kept. Hopefully you find one soon!

I'm glad you don't mind the other sorts of dolls making an appearance. You're right that it is much less work to have just one. :D

  2. I have an old record player also in order to listen to old records. But mine is not as lovely as the one you found ! I love the photo you made. Unfortunately I don't know this song but I will search for it on youtube ! Best regards, Stéphanie

    1. I wish I still had mine from when I was a child, even though it was plastic and less nice than this one! LOL But this one works really well and I couldn't be happier with it.

I think "Sharon, Lois, and Bram"were mostly a Canadian phenomenon; they were so popular here when I was a kid that I didn't even realize they were probably only known here! LOL

  3. I think my mum still has an old record player in the loft, along with loads of other stuff from my childhood I think! I have a box of records somewhere too, but mine are David Essex and The Bay City Rollers, amongst others! Ahhh, those were the days!
    Hugs Sharon x

    1. Oh, you should rescue them! :D I was surprised to find that I remembered the words to many of the songs. I must have listened to them a lot!

We had the small records that came with picture books as well; I'm looking forward to introducing my sister's two younger kids to those this weekend. :)
